This book has a higher wishlist for other isbns, making it a very popular book for PBS readers in 2015.
The setting is a Louisiana historical plantation, with intact slave quarters. The plantation now does, weddings, tours and plays. A migrant worker is murdered, and our heroine is caught up in the present murder and an ancient mystery involving her distant relative. This is not a cozy mystery, more of a thriller, because the murderer seems to be stalking Caren, the heroine and her daughter Morgan. Lots of corruption, twists and turns.
