While working undercover in a compound where illegal guns were stored, DEA Agent John Braxton was shot in the back. He made it out of the Kentucky hills, but died in his twin brother's arms. Jake Braxton vows to find the person who shot his brother and make him pay. Jake passes himself off as his brother and returns to the compound that is run by Elijah Moon. Elijah's six sons, their families, and his daughter Gracie live there. Gracie is astonished when Jake tells her that someone tried to kill him. She also believes that her eldest brother may have had something to do with the attempted murder.
This book started off with John getting shot and rolled right along at a fast clip until the mid-point of the story. Then the plot moved away from the suspense and focused on the romance. I thought the romance was lacking and wasn't very interesting. I wish they could have stuck with the suspense plot the whole way through the book. My rating: 3 Stars.
