She may not be the most popular or well known author but having read this one I have to blame it on poor promotion. This one is far better then many I have read. Starting with a family of mixed cultures, modern times native Canadian Indian and Canadian. A native demonic legend come back and the battles for souls that ensue. Covering a few generations. If you like Dan Simmions, who is one of the best authors no matter what he writes, you will like this, I could compare it to the The Stand as well just for depth of the character development **without getting boring.
