I like this series more for the characters and their personal lives than the mystery element, although that's usually pretty good. This time out I found the abandoned tunnel system very interesting, there's a sympathetic look at some of the homeless people in the area, and the dynamics of Nelson's team continue to evolve. Minor quibble: I do wish that there was more emphasis on Galloway's skills as an archaeologist. Griffiths used it more in this book than some of the previous, but to me it only provided the framing device to introduce the tunnels - her investigation of the bones they found didn't make much difference in the end. Nelson's new boss has potential, and Griffiths gives us a twist worthy of a soap opera at the very end. Uh-oh...
