Helpful Score: 3
I have a hard time parting with this book, but I am passing it along as I can't keep all my books forever, it is THAT good.
I call this a "fairy tale for adults" because it has the fancy of a children's story, but is also complex in nature. I liken it to Joanne Harris' Chocolat as that "kind" of story, although the main character is male, not female.
This is a magical story I enjoyed reading more than once. It is believable and yet fanciful.
