Beautiful book and a most interesting mystery story.

Ghost Light on Graveyard Shoal: the very name sends shivers down your spine, and the book lives up to its thrilling title. This book is an exciting mystery, a chilling horror story, and a touching tale of friendship all rolled into one. It is a story about storms and ghosts and father-daughter relationships and false trust and horrible crimes. It is Rhoda's story.
Rhoda lives on a small island off the coast of Virginia, where her father runs the US Lifesaving Station. When she spots mysterious lights on dangerous Graveyard Shoal, spunky Rhoda has to find out who -- or what -- is responsible for them. Could it truly be the ghost of the Mangled Mariner, the gruesome character in her favorite ghost story? Or is it a wrecker -- someone who lures ships to run aground so that he or she can steal the goods onboard? It's hard to point fingers when you've known everyone on the small island all your life, but Rhoda is determined to solve the mystery.
She begins to suspect her best friend Pearl's father. Is saving the ships her father is supposed to protect worth hurting her gravely ill friend?
Ghost Light on Graveyard Shoal is a fantastic book. It takes you to a world of mystery and adventure. Although it is fast-paced and exciting, it is also full of emotion that will convince you that you feel just the same way the characters do. Courageous Rhoda, impetuous Pearl, sorrowful Mr. Kimball, seemingly friendly Harlan, and all the other characters aren't easy to forget, and their story is just as believable, diverse, and exciting.
