I think this was the weakest of this series for me.
This is Gillie and Taye's story. After their escape, they stay together and help each other re-acclimate and cope with their new life on the outside. Gillie was 12 when she was kidnapped and has been imprisoned for half her life. They are also being hunted by the Foundation.
When Mockingbird reaches out, they do eventually accept help. Now, the goal is to take the Foundation down. Gillie and Taye start separate lives while never forgetting about the other. I did like seeing how Silas was able to restart his life. I also thought the Foundation was brought down too easily. I was also disappointed that we never really knew Mockingbird as a character. But, just focusing on Gillie and Taye and their HEA, this did work.
