Mama finishes reading bedtime stories to her monkeys, And says sweet dreams! lights out! But the five monkeys still want to read. The first choose a funny book and they all laugh and Mama comes back and reminds them to go to sleep.
Next still want to read and choose a scary book. They all scream, Mama hears them. Excuse me she says, "Didn't I tell you no more monkeys reading in the bed. You can read tomorrow. She takes their flashlight and tells them. Lights out, Sweet dreams, and no more noise because I am going to bed!" The last page shows Mama in bed screaming and 5 monkeys standing in her doorway and she says "This is the best, scariest book I've ever read."
