The summaries of this book, don't do it justice. It turned out to be a lot more complex with some surprising twists and (from the protagonist's point of view) some lows and highs.

What I liked was that it's real. It deals with some themes of drinking, suicide, assault/violence in a very adult way, almost pragmatically.

The ending was okay, but, I wanted it to be happier, not as real. Speaking generically, you invest in the characters and their relationships with each other, the "incident" happens and they all drift. Don't know if it will ever happen, but I'd love a sequel.

Good author, I will read more of his books.
