Ben Walsh knows his grandfather won't give him his parent's ranch until he gets married. So, he approaches Gina Reyez with a business deal...marry him for a couple of years and he will buy her a house and give her a large settlement. Gina hesitates to take the deal because she definitely doesn't want to be married. But she would like the financial security the money would give her and her family. Gina agrees and everything is going fine until Ben's Grandpa Joe shows up on her doorstep. The next things she knows, she and Ben are flying to Idaho to visit family and things are getting out of control.
I've enjoyed every book in the Domestic Gods series and was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, there were things that just didn't work for me. I thought Gina was very irritating, always whining and complaining about everything. And I never understood why Ben fell in love with Gina. I loved the character of Ben (what woman wouldn't?). I also enjoyed meeting the various members of Ben's family and look forward to their books in a spin-off series. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
