Titus Crowne returned to his hometown after a career with the FBI. He is now the first Black sheriff of Charon County. Crime in the county has been relatively uneventful until a popular schoolteacher is shot by one of his former students. Deputies take down the shooter after he charges them. As Titus and his deputies search through the teacher's personal computer and phone, they uncover unspeakable crimes against children perpetrated by masked killers. Titus knows the killer is not a drifter. It is someone who lives in the community. Someone who has been preying on kids and getting away with it for years.

This is another winner from S.A. Cosby. You can always depend on this author to bring you a powerful, thought-provoking, unforgettable story. Titus is a fantastic character. I felt like I knew him after only a few pages. There are lots of characters in this story, but I had no problem following the story and keeping everything straight.

I listened to the audiobook. Adam Lazarre-White does an outstanding job with the narration. I highly recommend this book! My rating: 5 Stars.
