Tory grew up in South Carolina in a small rundown house with an abusive father who ruled with a iron fist and a leather belt. But had Hope, who lived intthe big house just a short distance away and whose friendship allowed Tory to be the child she wasnt allowed at home. After Hope is brutally murdered Torys life begins to fall apart. When she returns to her hometown with plant to open a stylish home design shop she hopes to find peace. Then she become close to Hopes older brother Cade who is also heir to the family future. She wonders is the tragic loss they share will unite them or drive them apart but she is willing to take a chanace. Living so close to those unhappy memories and frightening than Tory anticipated because Torys murderer is nearby as well. Great story.
