this is the most overrated book. not only is there no character development, but for a book that's supposed to be marketed to teens it sets a horrible example for healthy relationships. fall madly in lust and want to give up your life for someone...ummm no thanks. while stephenie meyers is good at setting a scene and mood (much too descriptive if you ask me), her character development is nonexistent. the entire book (and the entire series save for a chapter or two in the last book of the series)is written in first person from bella's point of view. you get no sense of any of the other characters (quite a few) that she introduces and frankly they seem much more interesting than the whiny and weak bella. Parents beware: this is not a book i would recommend letting impressionable young girls read.
