Hmmm, I gave this book 3.5 stars. It's a collection of 4 re-released stories from older anthologies - three of which I'd already read. I really wish they'd quit doing that! I'm not sure which is more annoying...the feeling of being tricked into buying a re-issue, or idiot me not being more careful and recognizing it ahead of time.

"Unmasking Kelly" by N.J. Walters. Previously printed two years ago in another Ellora's Cave anthology: "Overtime, Under Him". It's also available as an EC e-book "Quickie" under the story name. This is about a plus sized gal that decides to go after her hunky bar-owning boss by attending their yearly masquerade party all dressed up. She thinks it'll be just a one night thing, but he decides otherwise. All in in all, a good story. I just stopped when I realized I'd already read it.

"Sinderella" by Jan Springer. Another EC re-issue from Dec, 2008 (Bad Girls Have More Fun), as well as in e-bk: Sinderella. I didn't care for this story, but the e-bk got two good reviews at EC. It's a play on the Cinderella story complete with vile step mother and sisters that treat Ella very poorly indeed and she allows it (strike one for me), and a hunky hero. All are gynecologists (big strike two) and work together at the same medical center. What no one knows is that Ella has a very naughty side. She's an erotic performer in a play called...wait for it...Cinderella (strike three for the whole public performing/voyeurism thing). The premise of this book didn't work for me but hey, maybe you'll like it. Here's the synopsis from the back of the book:
"By night, klutzy Ella becomes a masked vixen in her erotic performances of Cinderella. When Prince Charming stands her up, her sexy colleague Dr. Roarke Stephenson comes to her rescue for one passionate night of hot, blazing sex...in front of an audience."

Wolf in Cheap Clothing by Charlene Teglia. Re-release. Originally offered in the anthology Out of This World Lover from Jan, 2009. Also available as an EC e-book under the same name (Wolf in Cheap Clothing). I actually enjoyed this story, but wish it had been longer and not quite so rushed. This is the story of a newly changed werewolf/shapeshifter heroine (Lou) that's after the serial killing wolf shifter that changed her. She goes on the hunt and crosses paths with a fellow hunter (another wolf) that's after the same guy. She knows almost nothing about being a wolf shifter and doesn't recognize that the guy's her mate. He does, thinks she understands, and settles the matter - immediately. All in all, not bad. You just can't get hung up on how fast things happen or how likely they could be. LOL Let's face it, this is not only a shapeshifter story, but a very short one, so reality and time-line issues take a back seat to getting a quick story out.

"Stolen Goddess", by Tawny Taylor. Re-release. Originally offered in the anthology Naughty Nights (July 2008). Also available as an EC e-book as Stolen Goddess. I'm sorry, but I thought this one was just plain ridiculous. Basically, a woman - Kylie, wakes up naked, tied to a bed in another world, and pretty much has sex right away with the supposed kidnapper. Okay, the man's a hunk, but still. He claims she's his wife...and a goddess. She doesn't have a clue. She's taken to the "Wise one", who ends up being a classmate of hers from middle school that had a crush on her! Apparently, while working for the government, he found another world with a lack of females, and decided to intervene. He made clones of Kylie, so every female servant, wife, you name it, are all carbon copies of her - down to the same spot of cellulite. This book had some good moments but all in all...just ridiculous.
