Lord Hartleigh grows from a time-wasting ne'er-do-well to an attentive father during this book. Having no experience with children, he scours the neighborhood for a likely helper. All he can find is Mrs. Kane.
Lord Hartleigh is not well-liked in the neighborhood because of his own antics and those of his dog. However, Mrs. Kane helps him anyway.
The first half of the book was more entertaining than the last half. However, the book is Barbara Metzger all the way. A fun story.
