Each of the first few chapters of this book read as a short story as we're introduced to each of the families affected by the avalanche. I didn't want any of the stories to end, but enjoyed the next chapter as soon as I started them. The reader knows there's been an avalanche, how many children are caught in it, and how many survive. It's not until about 200 pages into the book though that all of the stories/characters come together and we learn which children have survived. As with Dallas' other books, I enjoyed this one thoroughly! Highly recommend!
