The first thing I determined about this book is --This is a Ladies Detective Mystery!

But, not being a lady, I nevertheless liked it!

This was my first "listen" to a Sara Paretsky book, I had heard of her detective Vic Warshawski before - but never read or listened to one. This is one "First rate mystery" as far as I'm concerned.

Sara writes very well, almost in the same league as Michael Crichton - by that I mean she seems to have a good knowledge about technical detail. The details in the underground scenes were excellently done.

When I first stated that this was a ladies mystery, it is by no means "a ladies tea party" kind of mystery, V.I.Warshawsky is one cool, tough lady detective.

I recommend this to those, who like me, are not of the same gender as the author or heroine of this book.
