Well, this was a strange one. It opens with Tommy Flood realizing his vampire girlfriend Jody has just turned him, and most of the book deals with his struggle to adjust. I struggled with over half the book too, as this type of humor is really not my thing, especially with the teenage characters, particularly that of Abby Normal, the Goth girl who becomes their minion. But the action picks up up when Elijah, the vampire who turned Jody, comes after them, and what ensues is an amusing, confusing and lengthy comedy sketch that surprisingly becomes quite entertaining in the end. What persuaded me to rate the book 3 stars instead of the 2.5 I initially wanted to give it was the very last line, the only one in the book that made me laugh out loud. I had not planned on reading any more of Moore's work, but maybe one day if I'm in the mood for inanity...
