Apparently, this is the last of Block's "Evan Tanner" series, as it was published in 1998, with no more since then. While it is not as good as some of the others in this series, it is one thousand times better than the previous book---Me Tanner, You Jane---which was unbelievably awful.
It is interesting the previous "Me Tanner, You Jane" was published in 1970, or 18 years before the following "Tanner on Ice." It may be that the former book killed most people's interest in this series. Although, Block may have hoped "Tanner on Ice" book would revive reader's interest, as the ending suggests Tanner's professional life would be continuing and his possible relationship with Minna is unresolved.
