This was a fast-paced short book in the CIRCLE EIGHT series (see below). It takes up where MATTHEW left off. Brody Armstrong is a Texas Ranger trying to find the Grahams youngest brother, Benjy.
Olivia Graham doesnt think Brody is working fast or hard enough to find Benjy and the murderers of their parents. Liv follows Brody through Texas into Mexico, trailing the only lead Brody has found after months of work. Brody warns Liv that she may not want Benjy because he has been sold; she disagrees.
This story takes place during the Republic of Texas and going into Mexico so soon after the war with Mexico (in which Texas won her independence) is quite risky.
The story was interesting and it moved quickly. My major problem with it is that a Texas Ranger took a civilian into danger and proceeded to have sex with her right after they escaped their bonds and before they left the dangerous place they were sequestered! Sheesh.
