The One-Day Way: Today Is All the Time You Need to Lose All the Weight You Want is pretty much summed up in the title: the focus is on making positive changes one day at a time. From overeating to addictions to destructive habits, the author truly believes that you can change anything... but focusing on six-month plans isn't the way to do it. She outlines positive steps you can take to address various issues (nutrition, exercise, etc.), but reminds us that you have to focus on the small steps you can take today, and not get overwhelmed thinking about the future or the past.

This isn't the first book to remind us to break things down into managable daily pieces ("baby steps" from Flylady are based on a similar concept) if we want to make big changes. There wasn't anything earth-shattering in Ms Hobbs' ideas, but they are based on common sense approaches to struggles that every one of us faces. If you need a reminder to give yourself your due credit and see each step towards change as a victory, then this is the book for you.
