This book is a great start of a series. That's not always easy because the author is trying to introduce the major players and still write a mystery. The main protagonists, Constable Molly Smith and Sgt. John Winters, take on full blown lives. The setting of this book is a small town in the Canadian Rockies where a lot of draft dodgers from America came to back in the 60's. One of them has died and left a park to the town with the stipulation that they have a statue in honor of these men. This causes a rift in the town and then a man who is trying to build a timeshare resort is murdered. Feelings escalate. Outsiders come in to incite the wrath of the townspeople. All if seen through the eyes of the young Molly and the seasoned Sgt. John. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
