Mostly enjoyable romp featuring a locked room murder solved by a magician that a Scotland Yard detective enlists to unravel the tangle of seemingly impossible happenings. A bit too long, and I found the motive a bit of a stretch, but a good introduction to the main character and the 1930's setting in London was a good choice.
