A Witch World novel. Kaththea, daughter of the Estcarp witch Jaelithe and the Outworlder Simon Tregarth, is in deep trouble. She called upon old, all-but-forgotten, and perhaps better-left-forgotten powers for help in a time of direst need. Now the debt comes due, but it may be someone else rather than Kaththea who pays the bill . . . for her death naming . . .
A good adventure/magic novel, what you have come to expect from Andre Norton.
