Neurologist J. C. Mueller, M.D., needs to find a babysitter/au pair for his newly orphaned niece. He meets lovely Maddie Carter, who has returned home to Rosewood, Texas, to care for her Alzheimer's-stricken mother. Maddie and Chrissy spark up a friendship, but Maddie worries about getting too close to the handsome doctor who's treating her mother.
The author refers to Dr. Mueller as performing surgery, which is an error. Neurosurgeons perform surgery; neurologists do not. Also, dating the daughter of a patient is a tricky ethical dilemma that's completely hand-waved away here for the sake of the plot.
Otherwise, though, it's a charming little romance that reminds us of the adage that people are more important than things. Relationships--face to face ones, not Internet ones, are what help ground us in reality and help us to deal with obstacles that we might face. The author has written several other Love Inspired titles set in Rosewood, Texas, and all are recommended.
