In this novel, the third of the Crosslyn Rise series (as it was described when published by Harlequin), Nina Stone is a hard-boiled real estate career-woman, who is truly unafraid to go after what she wants. What is remarkable is the effective and compassionate manner in which Delinsky paints this heroine. John is her hero, an outwardly mild-mannered but extremely passionate bookseller with a four-year-old hearing impaired son. The two are thrown together as partners on a project, both reluctant, but increasingly aware of an undeniable attraction. Throughout the course of the book, the two come to a realization that they have a lot to learn about love as they learn that their apparent differences are much less significant than their need for each other.
