What a decade it was: the Fabulous '50s! It was peace and prosperity, an era of magnificent excess; a decade of dazzle; a culmination of chrome dreams; a golden age.
Almost 60 million vehicles were produced in the '50s, and they were ones we would always remember.
In the '50s we created a society around our cars; suburbia; underpasses and freeways drive-in moves, miniature golf and strip shopping centers; camping grounds and Mom and Pop motels; White Castle and other hamburger joints galore.
America was on the go, and the American automobile was the vehicle of choice.
