I am completely horrified by this book. The Pearls talk about spanking,whipping,swatting 6-month-old babies!
I don't ever recall Jesus advocating hitting anyone for any reason. Jesus asked us to love one another. Jesus taught that unless we become like little children we can never enter the kingdom of heaven. This means children are more like God than we adults. We should try to emulate children and love them not beat them starting from the age of 6 months as the Pearls advocate.
Anyone about to follow the Pearls should know that their methods have been implicated in the death of a child. Please see the following link.
