What a delightful read! I have been a longtime fan of "Jane Eyre," and somewhat enjoyed reading through "Wuthering Heights" for school, so when I spied a copy of Anne Bronte's novel at a library sale, I decided to take a chance on it. I'm so glad that I did!

Agnes narrates her own story in a clear and readable manner. Whereas "Jane Eyre" had Jane teaching a sweet little French girl, Agnes finds herself the governess of a pack of spoiled monsters, and later, two very conceited young ladies. It's a great look at a governess's life without rose-colored glasses.

I loved the romance of the story as well - I think my heart leapt right along with Agnes' every time a certain someone appeared!

I enjoyed this read so much that I got snappy with loved ones who tried to talk to me while I was "in the zone." Highly recommended!
