Taking an ex-boyfriend's comment as a dare, Alex packs up and leaves her life in NY for grad school in England. From there, her year is studying, drinking, talking about men, drinking, smoking and drinking some more. It was a fast read, with the love triangle and Alex's cynical attitude wearing thin at times.
