An entertaining and very engaging coming of age story about a 48 year-old college professor. She moves from New York City (Columbia) to Amherst MA. (Amherst College) Her life takes on a whole new and different dimension as she buys and renovates and old Victorian home and meets new and somewhat quirky friends. I found myself emotionally engaged with Joy and concerned about her well being as her new life unfolded. I hope this is not Meier's last novel. She is easy to read and the story just flows. I really enjoyed it. This is definitely not chick lit but a wonderfully engaging story about life, friendship and the choices we make.
