While this wasn't disappointing, there is just something off with the last 3 books. It is almost as if either Nora Roberts is bored and going through the motions or someone else is writing them for her. The romance is softened, the plot/comments/reactions of the characters are flat. Perhaps it is just missing the adrenaline rush that we normally get with Eve and her chases. Plus, I have to admit, I miss the hot, detailed "monkey sex," (as Eve would say) that the earlier novels have. The last half of the book is good and the ending satisfying but the last 3 have gotten 3-4 stars from me, instead of the 5 stars most of the early ones got.

It is definitely worth the read but the early ones are so much more satisfying. Also, while it can be a stand alone novel, if you haven't read the others, I suggest going back to the beginning for a great story, true thrill/intrigue and a hot, sexy Roarke! :)
