Book Review of The Pursuit of God: The Human Thirst for the Divine

The Pursuit of God: The Human Thirst for the Divine

There are many things that I could say about why I didn't rate this higher. Let's just say that I think I have just grown weary of reading theology books in general because I have read so many and get nothing out of them anymore. I get so much more in reading the Bible on my own and with others while discussing with people, so that is why I probably won't be reading many more theology books. This book is kind of "duh" when you read it if you have been a long time believer. I feel badly saying it that way but there was just nothing special about it for me. I think it would be good for those who are trying to find God still and possibly are stuck in not knowing how to grow. The only thing that I really liked out of it was when Tozer mentioned about the church being in unity and all pointing in one direction reflecting God and how beautiful that is. I agree that it would be wonderful. I agree that too many Christians are just going with the flow and not truly pursuing God and it is destroying "the church". Want to pursue God? Just read His word, pray, and obey what the Word says.
