To be honest, I felt quite foolish picking this book up. 1. It's classified as 'Young Adult' and my book store happened to sit it right next to some of the very same titles that I read when I was in my elemantary school years. 2. It's a book about vampires. I can honestly say that I was, and still to this day am not a fond reader of 'Fantasy' type fiction. But, for the passed few weeks I've heard tons of gossip about the series, and now that the movie trailers are finally hitting the big screens, I wanted to make sure I read this before the movie spoiled everything for me.
The first few chapters in, I felt like I was reading an old 'Fear Street' book from my junior high years. I honestly wanted to just put the book down, and chalk it up to a good try. But I couldn't stop reading. I kept having to tell myself that the book was intended for a younger audience, and had to excuse some of the sappy dialogue between the characters. I can't really pinpoint what sucked me into this book, and when I become obsessed. Maybe it was the fact that it brought back my youth, or the fact that a good 'love' story (insert chuckle here) is always a page turner. Whatever it is, I am hooked. I have now engulfed myself in the world of vampires .. and the Cullens of course.
