This felt like Eleanor Oliphant to me and I recommend it if you have a soft spot for quirky heroines. Enid can't directly say "I love you" to her mom, but she can call her up and tell her an intersting fact about space. Enid's half sisters are interested in building a relationship with her and she connects with them in her own way. Enid also participates in therapy which leads to anwers to lots of readers' questions.
