Mina is only 1 of 2 female blue bloods (Perry is the other one and her story was in the previous book). She was her father's only heir (her brother died) and became the Duchess of Casavian. Her father was murdered by Barron's father (we later learn more about this), so she doesn't trust Leo. Mina has always been perceived as cold from Leo's point of view. But, he is intrigued by her. Mina has had to fight to prove herself and watch her behavior since she is judged by other standards.
Both dance around each other and do (eventually) decide to trust each other. I thought they wetre perfect for each other. Once they really talked (and realized they were on the same side) things between them were wonderful.
Things with the underlying storyline do come to a head in this (the asshole, abusive prince consort gets what is coming to him). Couples from previous books make an appearance. Honoria has her baby. This also had some revelations.
