While this latest book in the cynsters series is in no way bad....it certainly wasn't up to par....we're sort of tossed right into the story with a lot less build up...a lot less necessary build up then we usually get....so I had a harder time getting into this one. I actually missed the way SL usually sets her books up....i couldn't help. Ut feel like something was missing....I ended up putting this down a bunch of times, before finally finishing it.
well, I will say that it seemed liked steffy added things she usually doesn't....not always a good thing....the hero's reputation as a rake was mentioned bunches of times...as was the fact that he had a previous relationship that didn't work out....howeve we, along with the heroine of the story never get the full deets re: said relationship....
The heroine...I think I would've liked her better if we'd seen her before she came up with her plan to catch her hero....she wasn't bad, but I don't really care for her either way.
And there's a tiny tiny paranormal aspect near the end, that bugged the crap out of me...it just seemed out of place, at least IMO.
So literally having just finished Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue, I find myself more annoyed and disappointed than anything. I'll still read the next one, but maybe not as soon as it's released...and if I can find some patience, I may get it at the library first.
