There is so much in the content of this book that steps far beyond what we have come to expect from the series. This is a good thing, because it keeps the series from stagnating.
Vishous is a warrior of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Wounded on the field, he ends up in a human hospital where he is treated by trauma surgeon Jane. Jane finds herself pulled into V's world and falling in love with him.
As expected, it's seriously kinky and hot. In the midst of this though, it's surprisingly romantic. Vishous is portrayed as an alpha male at times, but he also has a softer side.Jane is an awesomely strong, smart character. The chemistry between them is dynamic.
The plot flows well, and it's relevant to the series. We continue to learn more about the world of the vampires, and their spiritual world as well.
