In "A Gathering of Secrets," small town police chief Kate Burkholder investigates the grisly murder of a young Amish man. The victim, Daniel Gingerich, is highly spoken of within the Amish community, which makes his manner of death (he was burnt alive by an arsonist) all the more shocking.

As Kate, Skid, Glock and the rest of her team dig deeper into the victim's past, they uncover secrets that some would prefer stay hidden....... secrets worth killing for.

It's hard to believe that this is the tenth entry in the Kate Burkholder series, as the quality has been consistently high and every book feels fresh, despite following a formula (an Amish person is murdered, the Amish intentionally or unintentionally hinder Kate's investigation because she is an outsider, and Kate ends up in mortal danger, worrying Tomasetti). The formula works, and Linda Castillo once again finds the right balance of page-turning thrills and heart. I hope that there will be another ten Kate Burkholder books, and that they will all be as enjoyable as this one.

Thanks to Amazon Vine for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
