OK, this author is not Bill Bryson (my favorite), but he is funny and informative at the same time. I learned allot about China from this book too, and it is not what I thought it was. My daughter goes to China several times a year for work (Shanghai) and now I am going to worry about her more than normal.... it seems that China is good and bad at the same time, as is it's leadership. If you like Bill, you'll also like this book. I did order another book from this author and hope I like it as well as this one.
