I am not a huge Dean Koontz fan (meaning that I have read only a handful of his books in recent years) but I did enjoy this one. The dialog is snappy and written in a style very similar to the Odd series. The plot unfolds at a pace that will keep you reading. My only complaint about this book is that most of the character development takes place in the final few chapters - until the characters' secrets are revealed I did not feel that I really knew them. Had the characters been better fleshed out during the earlier stages of the story I would have enjoyed it more. However, overall the book was an enjoyable beach read.
