Written and published just nine weeks after the disaster it relates, "The Loss of SS Titanic" tells the startlingly true story of its author, Lawrence Beesley. Unlike most books I have read, this one gets you into the minds of the passengers during those few hours. They felt invincible... it was not until the ship actually was gone that they realized what had truly occured. He also tells about what happened on lifeboat 13 which is really heartrending.
I highly, HIGHLY, reccomend this book to anyone who wants to get into the minds of those who witnessed the sinking of Titanic.
*A couple things that should be noted, Beesley has a few facts that HE believes are facts that later were disproven. Such as the Titanic going down whole, and there not being an explosion (which, I guess, is still debateable).
