solid 3 star book. Cussler is a great writer and the Dirk Pitt series is probably one of the best character series I've read, even if you read them out of order. As Cussler gets older, and Dirk Pitt, I'm finding that the books aren't as good as they used to be. The addition of the son and daughter twins at the end of the last true Dirk Pitt adventure was the start of the decline, in my opinion, and this book is no different. Compouding that is the addition of other authors who aren't nearly as good at writing as Cussler and it's clear when you read the book that Cussler merely oversaw, and didn't write the whole thing. Still, not a bad book, a bit contrived at times, but entertaining.
