The first Pete book (What Pete Ate) was cute and quirky... this one is skippable. My eight-year-old and I found it to be rambling, with many words kids would not understand. The art was still good, but the story, very forgettable. Pete is still eating ridiculous things, such as an entire encyclopedia, but this time around it feels like a recycled gag. Get it from the library and be glad you didn't spend a credit.
