Not always a comfortable book to read, yet compelling. I really like it. A coming of age story of a girl born to the river, who lived her life on the river. She was sexually exploited by most of the men she meets,abandoned by her mother, and her father was killed. She is a sharp shooter, and an Annie Oakley like woman.
