Wow, I am finding more and more favorite authors!! In my opinion, this book was somewhat better than Fantasy Lover (#1), in that it develops more characters and creates more background for future novels. I love how it tied into the first book, and brought back characters and caught you up on how they are doing. And, even with all of this taking place, there was still so much of the story of Amanda and Kyrian that you were definitely kept on the edge of your seat. I can only hope the series continues this way.
I LOVE how it ties into ancient mythology and folklore. The only drawback to that, I am not familiar with the legends and such, and felt myself wanting to Google all these characters (Greek Gods and such) and acquaint myself with them and find the resemblance to Kenyon's version. I did get a little lost when so many character names were thrown in, in one chapter, but I know it is just a lead in for future novels. I was very satisfied with how Amanda was inquisitive and got very good details and explanations to how everything has come about to current times. I am confident I will enjoy the rest of the series and now I am anxiously awaiting #3.
I am intrigued with Kenyon's version of vampires (created by gods) and can't wait to read of the other "creatures" she has developed.
