We return to Fool's Gold for Madeline's turn at true love. It was a pleasant story, but without any real surprises, funny twists, or emotional crisis to keep my attention. For me, it was kinda nice to catch up on the younger generation of women who've taken over the "Daily Lunch Crowd" role at Jo's Bar. But even then, most of them are either having babies or dealing with newborns. I guess the one character I sympathized with the most was Raven - a stray written deliberately to tug on any Scrooge's heart at Christmas.
So it was a nice visit. But it's a book I'm willing to pass on to the next member.
