this book details the sordid affairs of a european professor at a generic university in the us and how he is let go of his job......partially because he's not a very good teacher, but most because his fellow faculty members don't particularly care for him. though it is a very good book, i don't hold it up to as high esteem as nabokov's other books. at any rate, it is an entertaining read if not anything else.
