Recently, I saw this book recommended and decided to try a new author. The dialogue is snappy and humorous between the main characters, Lisle and Olivia. They are so enjoyable, that I'm tempted to try another in this series.
Lisle. having spent years studying in Egypt, is in London, surrounded by his self-absorbed parents. They want him to travel to Scotland and renovate a decrepit castle. In fact, the parents pull out all the stops -- they refuse to continue to pay for Lisle's Egypt adventures.
Olivia is the ton's darling but she is notorious for regular scandals. She knows that she must marry soon but wants one last adventure with Lisle. Together, they and a pair of chaperone harpies set out for a Scottish castle. Let the humor begin.
Carsington
1. Miss Wonderful (2004)
2. Mr. Impossible (2005)
3. Lord Perfect (2006)
4. Not Quite a Lady (2007)
** 5. Last Night's Scandal (2010)
