"Mind Game" is the second book in Christine Feehan's GhostWalkers series. This novel stands on its own, however, and it is not necessary to read the first book in order to appreciate this one. I think the plot and pacing are much better in "Mind Game" than in the former novel, however, and the characters are more fully developed.

This book was instantly intriguing! The horror of experimenting on children becomes one of those horrid things you can't look away from. The search to help a woman who, because of the experiements, is exceedingly dangerous... will leave you satisfied. Because Feehan allows you to see this woman's past, you are rooting for her. She has never known closeness with anyone except Lily, and she believes Lily is an "imaginary friend" from childhood. How do you get close to someone when you're afraid? And when you're afraid, fires start and death happens. The right man was picked for this job.
As is usual with a Feehan book the "romance" is less romance and more instant sex morphed into relationship. The sex, however, descriptive and well written! Her development of a relationship in fairly non-existent, but there is an explanation offered for it in her books, and if you can jump the bridge of disbelief, you can sink into this world she offers.
I truly enjoyed this book. I liked the paranormal offering of a group of people exploited to create "super" powers.... who discover the betrayal and are now using their powers to uncover the injustice.
Definitely worth the read!
